THE NEIGHBORHOOD
POPLAR
Located just north of Northern Liberties, Poplar erves as a quick link to NoLibs. Poplar’s rebirth was led by an influx of artists, such as the creative minds behind the quirky PhilaMOCA, an art gallery and performance space in a former mausoleum.
The mostly residential area features the Victorian-era Divine Lorraine Hotel, a once-derelict landmark converted into luxury apartments. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants offering Indian, Mexican and Venezuelan cuisines.
